There are several student groups at Rutgers University that are active in the campaign to end the crisis in Darfur. Despite each group's successes, the Darfur student activist movement on campus has garnered little attention. It's time to coalesce.

If your student group is active in the Darfur student activist movement (whether your group be cultural, religious, grassroots humanitarian, relief, etc.), then attend a Coalition meeting!

Coalition meetings will:
> Review what actions and events each group has taken and hosted in the past;
> Assess each group's resources;
> Assess each group's time commitment;
> Introduce the National STAND Coalition's plans for April 2006; and
> Build upon the strengths of each group in order to plan and implement a well-organized, cohesive series of events for the whole of April 2006 (in anticipation of the Million Voices for Darfur Rally in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, April 30, 2006).

Attendance at the National STAND Coalition Meetings at Rutgers University requires pre-registration. All student leaders and groups who have been involved, or who want to be involved, in the Darfur student activist movement on campus may attend.

To sign up, please email Alison Lazaro at aflazaro@eden.rutgers.edu with the following information:

> Your email address
> Your mobile phone number
> Meeting date(s) you plan to attend (3/19, 3/25, or 3/26)

Potential projects for April 2006 include:
> Hosting a major event during the week of April 6, the anniversary of the beginning of the Rwandan genocide
> Coordinating a Darfur die-in
> Campaigning for a Darfur Resolution to be passed at the University
> Creating a quilt or wall of art to present at the Million Voices for Darfur Rally
> Arranging buses to transport students from the New Brunswick campus to Washington, D.C. for the Million Voices for Darfur Rally.
