United StatesAmerican Jewish World Service (AJWS) Executive Director Ruth Messinger will make a presentation entitled "If I am Only For Myself: Caring Beyond our Borders." The presentation provides a first-hand account of the ongoing genocidal campaign in Darfur, Sudan that has claimed over 400,000 lives since February 2003. Ms. Messinger will describe her experiences visiting Darfurian refugee camps in August 2004 and October 2005, and what must be done to stop these atrocities.
She will also highlight the work of the AJWS and its 270 projects in over 35 countries throughout the Americas, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Ukraine.
