1402 Highland Ave Apt. #17 Knoxville, Tennessee 37916 United States 615-578-3060VEO (Volunteers for Ethiopian Orphans) is a brand new organization at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The purpose of VEO is to increase awareness throughout the American public of the growing problem of orphans in the east African nation of Ethiopia. Each day, thousands of Ethiopian children wander the streets, rummaging for food and fighting to stay alive. Our organization’s goal is to raise money throughout the school year by hosting different shows and events, so that from June to August 2007, a team of students and doctors may personally deliver the donations we raise to orphans and orphanages in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.
Through various fundraising endeavors, our target goal is $50,000, so we may significantly aid much-deserving, desperate programs in Addis Ababa. Upcoming VEO events to raise funds include:
*A fundraising dinner party for 500+ people (fall semester)
*A ten-act talent show (fall semester)
*Vols Idol (spring semester)
*A clothing and toy drive (spring semester)
*Dollar Days (monthly)
As a new organization on campus, we are currently seeking various sponsors and partners in the greater Knoxville community to help us meet some of our immediate concerns for tasks such as printing and publicity.
This is a campus group. Geographical Scope: Local Added on 09-12-2006 Updated on 09-17-2006 |
