Who: Hundreds of students nationwide

What: The first national Asian Pacific American student conference

Where: University of Southern California

Why: To join this historic moment in the APA student movement so that we can mobilize the community and affect change

When: November 5th - 7th, 2004

Welcome to NAASCon 2K4 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles! Since we founded in NAASCon in 2001, we have worked with Asian Pacific American (APA) students and organizations nationwide to build a strong foundation for a successful conference. We still have lots of work to do to develop NAASCon into an organization that serves the needs of the APA student community from California to New York to Florida to Texas to Hawaii to Utah to Wisconsin to Michigan to Alabama to Louisiana to Massachusetts to Maine to Ohio and beyond. And we hope that you will contribute to this conversation by joining us at this first national conference for APA students.

Beginning on Friday evening with Warren Furutani speaking about his experiences as an APA activist in the 1960s at the beginning of the APA student movement and ending with a march on Sunday afternoon in support of a community campaign, we hope that this conference will educate, empower, and inspire you. Already, student mobilizing against racist Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirts in 2002 indicated the strength and effectiveness of a strong APA student voice. We hope to build on that power. So join us at USC from November 5 to 7 this year and lets make history.
