Description
Colgate is holding a regional Presidential Election awareness event on October 16th. Why do you support your candidate because of his party or his platforms? The media often skirts the real issues. Come learn what these politicians actually stand for. Political groups from multiple colleges will attend in order to share ideas and to network with other chapters, thus expediting individual group accomplishment. The regionalism of this event will not only allow us to reach a greater number of students, it will also allow us to show the nation the significance of college students as a political force.

Current agenda for the event:
Debate between aides from each presidential election campaign paired with knowledgeable students
Speakers from Democracy Matters, the SUNYs, and NYPIRG discussing campaign finance reform, voter disenfranchisement, and the importance of college students' votes, respectively
Debate between local incumbent congressman, John McHugh of the 23rd District, and his challenger, Bob Johnson
Networking and idea sharing between political-interest groups from different schools
Concert with the band State Radio, starring former lead singer of Dispatch. Attendees of the debate will get in free!
