United StatesThe Fellowship of Reconciliation's Non-Violent Youth Collective and the Not Your Solider Project (with the Ruckus Society and War Resisters League) will be hosting another dynamic, exciting, and ALL NEW training this Feb. 11-16th, 2008 in Nyack, New York. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with young artists, activist, and organizers from all over the country who are creative nonviolent direct action to resist militarism!
The Not Your Soldier Organizing Training will focus on arts-based skills, creative direct action, and strategic organizing around issues on counter recruitment and conscientious objection, but that are applicable for other kinds of organizing as well.
Applications are due by January 12th, and can be sent to Peacemakertraining@gmail.com. The training will take place from the evening of Weds, February 11th to the morning of Monday, February 20th at the beautiful FOR Nyack office on the Hudson RIver. The sliding scale will be from $350-625 based on ability to pay, and will cover housing, food, materials and training for the weekend. Participants in Nonviolent Youth Collective trainings generally range in age from 14-27, though we do make exceptions.
The goals of this training are to:
* **STRATEGIZE with experienced trainers and other counter recruitment activists from across the country
** **GAIN and SHARPEN vital skills for running a successful, dynamic campaign
** **BUILD community with young artists and activists committed to nonviolent, creative action in resistance to militarism at home and abroad
