United StatesThe Local to Global Justice Teach-in is in its exciting 7th year! This year's theme is "Turning Walls into Bridges." On March 1-2, 2008, hundreds of progressive activists will converge on ASU in Tempe, Arizona to build on this theme through workshops, speakers, music, and shared food. The event is free and open to the public.
This year's speakers include author and Poor Magazine founder Lisa "Tiny" Gray-Garcia, educator and activist Mara Sapon-Shevin, and muralist Mike Alewitz. A complete schedule of events will be posted as the event gets closer.
The success of this event depends on you, and there are many ways to get involved. If your organization would like to present a workshop and/or have a table at the Teach-in, download and submit a proposal by February 1st.
