The Nonviolent Youth Collective
and Not Your Soldier...

Bringin' you the 2008
Peacemaker Training Institute!!

Young organizers, artists, and activists – want to challenge yourself, share and gain knowledge and build community with some of the most dynamic youth organizers from across the country?

Sharpen your mind, ground your spirit and (re)light your fire for social, economic, and racial justice and an end to militarism in our schools, communities, and the world!

Peacemaker Training Institutes (PTI's) combine nonviolence theory with concrete organizing tools you can use your community! For one week, participants learn and teach through group and one-on-one discussions and interactive workshops, art, and popular education to develop and strengthen a solid foundation in:

*militarism and counter-military recruitment strategies
*racism and anti-racist organizing
*gender oppression
*roots of economic inequality
*food justice
*lesbian, gay, queer, trans and bi-sexual issues and rights and MUCH MORE!

The PTI will be taking place from January 3-10 at the Kirkridge Retreat Center, in Bangor, PA (Just outside of NY and Philly!), with a particular focus on connecting social justice organizers from across the country.

Cost is $475-675 sliding scale, with scholarship and fundraising support available - don't let the cost keep you from applying!!
