Apartheid's over. So why does the minority white
population still own all the productive land in South
Africa, while indigenous Africans live in shanty
towns? How come diamond diggers in Sierra Leone don't
have electricity or running water in their villages,
although they annually extract over $8 billion worth
of the profitable gems? Closer to home, Jena, Katrina,
and six white kidnappers in West Virginia remind us
that individual and institutional abuse of black
people is alive and well in America.
"African People's Solidarity Day" will bring together African
revolutionaries from South Africa, Sierra Leone, and
the U.S. to discuss these issues and offer proposals
for positive action.
Mfanelo Skwatsha of the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania
(South Africa), Chernoh Alpha Bah of the Africanist Movement
(West Africa) and Omali Yeshitela of the Uhuru Movement (U.S.)
will be joined by author/activist Penny Hess and hip-hop performer
Krown.
