Description
Aris Fokas is a chaplain in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard who has recently returned from nearly two years service in Iraq. A Lancaster native, he is a graduate of F&M and Lancaster Theological Seminary. He is ordained in the United Church of Christ. Aris describes himself as "following no party line" on the politics of the Iraq War, and while there devoted himself to the spiritual well-being of the service personnel under his care. His experience and perspectives offer us the opportunity to reflect together on sometimes overlooked spiritual, religious and humanitarian dimensions of the conflict. Aris will open with some brief comments and then invite us into an open-ended conversation.
