United States"Choosing Science over Politics" - A discussion with Dr. Susan Wood. Dr. Wood served as Assistant Commissioner for Women’s Health and Director of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Women’s Health (OWH) from November 2000 through August 2005, when she resigned on principle due to the continued delay of approval of the emergency contraceptive, Plan B. Previously, Dr. Wood was the Director for Policy and Program Development at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health. She received her Ph.D. in biology from Boston University Marine Program.
