Description
The UCSB/ IV communities needs your help!!! Please respond if you are willing to help organize, participate or support ASAP!!

What: TENT CITY/ COMMUNITY ENCAMPMENT

WHEN: OCT 17TH 8PM

WHERE: BEGINNING AT 6626 PICASSO & MARCHING TO STORKE TOWER TO SETUP CAMP ON THE GRASS BETWEEN THE BIKE PATH

WHY : *TO DEMAND AN EVICTION PROTECTION POLICY IN IV
*TO LIFT UCSB WORKERS OUT OF POVERTY WITH AN IMMEDIATE WAGE
INCREASE
*MORE DIVERSITY @ UCSB

HOW: BY ESTABLISHING A TENT CITY ON CAMPUS, REFUSING TO BE SILENCED OR IGNORED, AND DEMANDING THE UNIVERSITY WORK WITH THE STUDENTS & COMMUNITY ON THESE ISSUES

Low-wages make it impossible for workers to live here, even then, they will be displaced by students by luxury housing- this same trend for luxury housing will continue to decrease diversity at ucsb and in our community. The result of all of this is that working class people of color are being forced from our community.
