Description
Attention biology students interested in social responsibility and activism: You are invited to attend a symposium, “The Dual-Dilemma in the Biological Sciences: Engaging Young Investigators in the Debate" at the National Academy of Science, October 27. The symposium will offer students a unique opportunity to explore the challenges that scientists encounter in dealing with the potential dual-use implications of their work, particularly focusing on the role that ethics, codes of conduct, and other outside forces play as scientists make their choices. Details about the symposium, such as the agenda, speakers, and registration information, can be at www.spusa.org/events. A limited number of scholarships are available for out-of-town students. Apply by downloading an application from www.spusa.org/events.
