This is the third meeting in a science and tech policy summer series for interns and students in Washington, DC. A free pizza lunch will be served.

"When Science and Politics Collide: Scientific Integrity in Public Policymaking" will feature two speakers: Dr. David Michaels, Research Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at George Washington University and Director of the Project on Scientific Knowledge and Public Policy abd Dr. Francesca Grifo, Senior Scientist and Director of the Scientific Integrity Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. The speakers will address whether or not the integrity of science is being compromised by the influence of political resesarch and what reforms, if any, are needed to insulate science from politics. Come learn about the challenges scientists face in the public sphere!
