Former child soldier, award-winning journalist, and political leader in Sierra Leone, Chernoh Alpha M. Bah comes to Philadelphia as part of his U.S. Tour: Diamond Wars, Child Soldiers, and the Worldwide Movement for African Liberation.

At 12 Mr. Bah, now 27, was forced into the Sierra Leone army as one of the infamous child soldiers in the deadly U.S. backed civil war that devastated the region in the 1990s. Before he was 20 Mr. Bah organized the Awareness Movement of Sierra Leone, edited The Point newspaper and was sent into exile in Guinea-Conakry where he became a political prisoner. Chernoh Alpha Bah now leads the Africanist Movement of Sierra Leone and West Africa, and works with the Uhuru Movement to build the African Socialist International. He speaks with passion and commitment about the roots of Africa's crisis, the reality in Africa today, and his vision for a just future of one united and liberated Africa.
