Starting Date: 10-02-2005 10101 Ashburton Lane Bethesda, Maryland 20817 United States 888-ASK-FARMWORLD FARM ANIMALS DAY, on October 2nd, is the one day a year when
caring people are conscience-bound to mourn and memorialize the
pointless suffering and death of 50 billion cows, pigs, turkeys,
chickens, and other innocent, sentient animals in the world's factory
farms and slaughterhouses. The occasion is observed with events in
all 50 states and two dozen other countries. The date marks the
birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, a foremost advocate of humane farming.
Local activists are encouraged to host events in their communities,
such as silent vigils, tablings, and demos. Please contact FARM for
more information, resources, and materials.
