Carbon Conscious Consumer (C3) Campaign
Notes
6 easy, habit-forming steps that average Americans can take to reduce our carbon emissions!

The six steps are:
1. EAT locally (July)
2. DOWNSHIFT your driving (August)
3. JUNK your junk mail (September)
4. BREAK the bottled water habit (October)
5. CLEAN green (November)
6. BRING your own bag (December)

As you probably know, climate change is gaining a lot of momentum because it is such an important issue, but many people still are unclear about how their daily choices can have a meaningful impact.

So...we're asking people to pledge to take 6 simple, yet concrete actions in their daily lives that will have a large collective impact reducing climate change. Each month participants pledge to carry out one specific action such as buying a pound of local produce/week.

The C3 website keeps an updated calculation on the number of pounds of carbon being saved due to people following through with their monthly pledges.

We need to get as many people as possible to take these steps, so we're giving away prizes to those individuals who get the greatest number of people to take the pledge and sign-up every month! Prepare for mountain bikes, kayaks, Patagonia jackets, and more!

C3 website enables individuals to register as a participant, refer other individuals to the website to increase a participant's chances of winning a prize, track a participant's own standing in the contest, track overall C3 national activity and progress with a map denoting regional activity across the US, and be informed of any C3 related news and updates pertaining to climate change and the New Dream.
