Activism.org Domain Name Sells for $1300

Today I participated in an auction for the activism.org domain which ended with a final bid of $1300. Someone else won. In the last 5-10 minutes, it went from $500 to $1300. The auction was done at snapnames.com.

The person who bought it is

The person who bought it is "Kevin Daste" who is a domain reseller (people who buy and sell domains to make money, and/or make money by type in traffic by running ads on the site).

If you Google him you will find a couple court cases that he lost, sued for copyright infringement for names like "peterpanpeanutbutter.com". My guess is that domain name resellers operate in a grey area - they probably push to see what domain names they can get away with having without being sued.
