309-360-9866Lorax is the first and only environmental club of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), a public magnet residential high school that accepts students from different regions throughout the state. We have participated in activities ranging from school-wide (Earth Day 2006, campus cleanups, rechargeable battery sales, plant sales, nature walks) to state- (lobbying in Springfield for environmental legislation, Fox River cleanup) and region-wide (Midwest Student Clean Energy Conference, sponsored by the Sierra Student Coalition). We are currently working on getting renewable energy to power our school, reforming the recycling system at IMSA, and reaching people (in our school, city - Aurora, and state) through awareness campaigning.This is a campus group.
