Starting Date: 11-26-2004 Starting Time: 12:00pm Berger Furrier 200 7th Ave Marion, Iowa 52302 United StatesPlease join me and CARE on Friday, November 26 for a Fur-Free Friday event in Marion (by Cedar Rapids)! We absolutely *need* activists to come out to this event!
The main focus on this demonstration is the Canadian seal hunt and how it affects the entire fur industry. The sealing industry claims that it is killing more seals because of an increase in demand for furall fur. Anyone wearing a mink or fox fur coat, or a jacket trimmed in coyote or rabbit furs, must take responsibility for creating an environment of demand for the furs of these baby seals who are clubbed and sometimes even skinned while they are still conscious. Animals slaughtered by the millions on so-called fur farmsminks, raccoons, chinchillas, and foxesmeet equally violent deaths by gassing, neck-breaking, and anal electrocution.
Please note that seal fur has been illegal in the US since 1972.
For driving directions to the event, please use Mapquest. If you need a ride, please contact me and we'll see what we can work out!
Thank you for all that you do!Geographical Scope: Local Protest |
