A lecture focusing on the contemporary Tibet situation: the invasion by Communist China in the 1950s, the efforts of refugees in exile to preserve their civilization, the situation in occupied Tibet, and current human rights violations.

The Drepung Loseling Monastery was established near Lhasa in 1416. After the Chinese Communist invasion of Tibet in 1959 and the forced closure and destruction of its monasteries, monks from Loseling escaped and rebuilt their institution in Karnataka State, South India. Many more young spiritual aspirants have fled Chinese-occupied Tibet and come to the monastery to help preserve their traditional culture. The monastery established its American seat in 1989 as a result of its first world tour.
