(Facilitator: Michelle Ridlen) Tenzin Delek Rinpoche is a highly respected Buddhist leader from eastern Tibet. He was convicted on false charges and sentenced to death in December 2002, with a two year reprieve. He could be executed by the Chinese government in December 2004.
Tenzin Delek is known for his dedication to preserving Tibetan religion and culture and protecting the environment. He built numerous schools, monasteries, and orphanages in his area.
