Can't add schools

On my edit person page, the boxes for school and groups are black except for a submit button. The other boxes have drop-downs in them. Is this a bug? If not, how do I add schools and groups?

It has to do with your address type. It's a confusing mess, but I try to distinguish between

School - a school address
Permanent - a non-school permanent address (aka where your parent(s) live, or some other place you might live when not in school)
Both - this is the address you use while both in or out of school

So when you specify a permanent address, I assume that won't be involved in a school in that area or a campus group.

I realize that now that i've been moving this site to include non-campus activists, not being able to connect to a group is a bug.

Ah, thanks. That was tricky because I am a senior in high school. Also, I never tried that drop down menu; permanent seemed good. Perhaps there should be no default option- then people would see all three choices.
