Notes
The Electoral Reform Committee is a student-run organization that reaches out to college and university campuses to promote electoral reforms, such as instant runoff voting. Instant runoff voting is a constitutionally protected election system that offers voters the opportunity to rank their preferences for office: first, second & third. That ranking allows for an instantaneous runoff if no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes. Majority rule without costly delayed runoffs - that's instant runoff voting.
If you're interested in promoting democracy, the ERC is searching for Campus Coordinators to champion instant runoff voting on their college campus. Campus Coordinators receive the full support and resources of the ERC to lobby their student government for this and other electoral reforms. While previous experience with student government, particularly holding office, is valuable, it is not required for Campus Coordinators. Any student, from freshmen to seniors can lead the campaign for reform.
This is a campus group.
