Description
Hello!

I’m writing from The Civilians, The Center for Investigative Theater in New York to invite you to participate in ‘Occupy #S17: One Year Later,’ an international theatrical event centered on the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. On September 17, 2012, various groups will gather together to share stories from this historic moment. This special one-night event is an outgrowth of our open-sourced living history project, ‘Occupy Your Mind,’ which you can read more about here:

http://thecivilians.org/programs/occupy_your_mind.html

On the 17th, theaters, students, activists and others are invited to convene performances of interviews conducted with Occupy activists over this past year. The Civilians will make all of our transcripts available for these readings, and we encourage you to host your event in any public space: a theater, a classroom, a public park, a shopping mall etc. The Civilians will be hosting our New York City event at Joe’s Pub/ The Public Theater. After the 17th, we will showcase videos and stories from your performance on our website, and we are excited by this opportunity to connect different communities through performance. Please take a look at the Occupy Your Mind Tumblr blog here:

Please let us know if you would be interested in participating in this project, or know of any other group that might be. I will then follow up with further resources including a searchable database of interviews. Additionally, if you would like to conduct your own interviews in your area, I would be happy to assist you in that process. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best,

Adam
