Voluntary Student Unionism - Australia
(Facilitator: Victoria Brookman)
Notes
Voluntary Student Unionism (also known as VSU) is a legislation put forward by the conservative government of Australia to destroy Student Organisations (including Service providers, student representative bodies). The government wants to do this because with universal student unionism, the current system, students have the structures and resources to run nationally coordinated campaigns against things such as student fee increases, course costs, and poor higher education conditions. This attack on student unionism is further evidence of the disgracefully anti-freedom of speech and expression agenda of the Australian Government. For more info email us
